Lesson 3: Bottom Row Typing Practice
The bottom row is the least comfortable reach on the keyboard, which is exactly why most self-taught typists look down for it. Work slowly here and accuracy will carry the speed later.

The Hardest Row on the Keyboard
This row requires curling your fingers inward rather than extending them, which feels unnatural at first. The left index covers V and B, the right index covers N and M, and the right hand also takes the comma and period. Because punctuation lives here, the bottom row is where hesitation shows up most in real writing rather than in drills. Slow, deliberate repetition removes the last habit of looking at the keyboard.
How Long Should You Practise?
Ten to fifteen minutes a day beats an hour once a week. Muscle memory is built by repetition spaced over days, so short daily sessions produce faster gains than long infrequent ones. Stop when accuracy starts dropping rather than pushing through, because practising mistakes teaches them just as effectively as practising correct movements.
