Lesson 1: Home Row Typing Practice
Rest your left fingers on A S D F and your right fingers on J K L semicolon. These eight keys are the anchor for every other key on the keyboard, so practise them until you can find them without looking.

Finding the Home Row Without Looking
Most keyboards have a small raised bump on the F and J keys. Find those two with your index fingers and the remaining six fall into place automatically, with your thumbs resting on the spacebar. From here every other key is one short reach away, which is why returning to the home row after every reach matters more than raw speed. If you find yourself glancing down to re-orient, slow the drill until you can recover position by feel alone.
How Long Should You Practise?
Ten to fifteen minutes a day beats an hour once a week. Muscle memory is built by repetition spaced over days, so short daily sessions produce faster gains than long infrequent ones. Stop when accuracy starts dropping rather than pushing through, because practising mistakes teaches them just as effectively as practising correct movements.
