Time Attack
You start with thirty seconds. Every word you clear adds time back to the clock, but the bonus gets smaller the further you go, and a wrong word costs you two seconds. The countdown never slows down, so the game always ends eventually. Your score is how long you held it off.

How Time Attack Works
The clock begins at thirty seconds and counts down continuously. Each word you type correctly and confirm with the space bar adds time back, starting at two seconds per word and dropping to eight tenths of a second once your score passes fifty. An incorrect word costs two seconds and moves you on to the next word regardless. Banked time is capped at sixty seconds so a very fast start cannot turn the game into an endurance test.
How to Score Higher
Resist the temptation to hammer the space bar early. Because the time bonus is largest for your first ten words, those are worth typing carefully, and a mistake in the opening seconds is far more expensive than one later. Keep your eyes on the current word rather than the queue below it, since reading ahead reliably causes transposition errors. If you feel yourself panicking as the clock turns red, type one word deliberately and correctly: recovering two seconds is better than losing four to a pair of rushed mistakes.
